Setting up a file for print can be complex especially if you are attempting it for the first time. Always speak to one of our experienced staff members at Chambers Whyte Design and Print before starting any large job, as it may save you valuable time and money.

To ensure your print job runs as smoothly as possible and meets your expectations always check and complete the following: Spell check and proof read your job, set the colour mode to CMYK not RGB, including all images, create the document at the right size, ensure all images are 300dpi (high resolution), crop marks and folds are included, any special fonts are included or converted to curves/outlines in smaller documents, bleed is set to 3mm-5mm, any PMS colours are nominated and separate correctly, all images are embedded or links are supplied for non PDF files, the file or media is labelled clearly.

Using black in you printing correctly
Do not use the standard default Photoshop black as it uses a lot of unneccessary ink and can cause drying, marking and registration problems with your printing. Preferably use a separation of C30% M0% Y0% K100% for solid black areas and only K100% for black text.
